John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people by his popular-folk hits and many of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. Denver became the initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people around the world. When I travel, you may meet people at opposite sides of the globe. Like, for instance, someone who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time within small Folk Music groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first moment he listened to the earlier versions that it was going to be an instant success. He recorded it within a couple of days of playing on stage in Washington D.C. before an crowd that was extremely enthusiastic.
